Story

Solutions to today’s environmental challenges are all around us—in how we move, heat our homes, eat, shop, and grow. Thousands of people across Toronto and the GTA are turning these solutions into action, and the Greener Toronto Fund is here to help them do even more.

We partner with passionate individuals and grassroots groups, giving them the support, connections, and tools they need to amplify their impact. Here’s how we do it:

  • Building community: We bring together climate and sustainability advocates to share ideas, collaborate, and energize each other—through events like the annual EcoFair.
  • Inspiring action: We help our member groups train and engage the next generation of environmental volunteers.
  • Spreading the word: Through outreach, communications, and our monthly e-newsletter, we showcase our members’ work and encourage more people to get involved.

Thanks to your support, we’re employing passionate young leaders this year who are:

  • Launching a volunteer management program to recruit, onboard, and engage new volunteers to help green our city.
  • Redesigning our online presence to highlight our members’ initiatives, promote events, and connect volunteers with opportunities to make a difference.

But there’s so much more we can do! With your help, we will:

  • Host collaborative events to strengthen connections between members, the public, and other like-minded organizations.
  • Fundraise to remove barriers to grassroots environmental action.
  • Connect even more volunteers with the groups that need them most.

By bringing people together, we create hope and drive real change. Let’s work together for a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future!
